Mindfulness as a Tool for Recovery Support (MTRS)

We offered the mindfulness series to participants in our DUI and Drug Treatment Courts. I had participants approach me and tell me they loved the series because it helped calm their mind and relax. They liked that the sessions were recorded in case they couldn’t catch the live session. Denina has crafted a great mindfulness series and provides encouragement for positive peer interactions for those participating.

Mindfulness as a Tool for Recovery Support (MTRS) is a structured, six-module program designed to introduce simple, accessible mindfulness practices that can be used to support emotional regulation, stress resilience, and recovery.
Each module explores a different gateway to mindfulness, offering practical tools that participants can integrate into daily life at their own pace. The program is grounded in accessibility and choice, making it appropriate for a wide range of individuals and settings.
MTRS is not about doing mindfulness “perfectly.”
It’s about building skills you can return to when you need support.
What You’ll Learn
Across six modules, participants are introduced to:
- Foundational mindfulness concepts and practices
- Simple tools for supporting nervous system regulation
- Practices that build awareness, presence, and resilience
- Multiple entry points into mindfulness, recognizing that no single approach works for everyone
Practices are taught in a clear, practical way and are designed to be adaptable to different bodies, experiences, and levels of familiarity with mindfulness.
